Privacy statement
Second Reading is operated by Imran Yousuf in Ontario, Canada. This statement explains what we collect when you order a review, how we use it, and how long we keep it. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
What we collect
- Your name and email address, collected at checkout and on the upload form.
- Payment details, collected and stored by our payment processor, Stripe. We never see your full card number.
- The document you upload and the details you give about the role: title, city, seniority, and anything you choose to add.
- Basic technical information when you visit the site, such as pages viewed and the referring source, through our analytics tool.
How we use it
- To prepare and deliver your report.
- To process payment and any refund.
- To send you the report, one follow-up email asking about your experience, and replies to anything you send us. We do not send marketing email unless you ask to receive it.
- To understand how the site is used, in aggregate.
Your document and your report
Your uploaded document is used only to prepare your report. It is processed with the assistance of an AI service under terms that do not permit the service to use your document to train its models. A person reviews the draft report before it is sent. We do not sell, share, or disclose your document or report to anyone else, and we do not use it for any other purpose.
How long we keep it
- Your uploaded document and the working files used to prepare the report are deleted within 48 hours of delivery.
- A copy of your final report is kept for 30 days in case you need it re-sent or request a refund, then deleted.
- Your name, email, order date, and payment record are kept for as long as required for accounting and tax purposes, currently seven years under Canadian law.
Where it is stored
Our email and file storage are provided by Google Workspace; payments by Stripe; forms by Tally; and AI processing by Anthropic. These providers may store data in the United States or other countries. By ordering, you consent to this transfer.

You may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, subject to what we must keep for legal reasons. Email [email protected]. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. Residents of other jurisdictions may have additional rights under local law.
